Catalonia Winter Road Trip

I just completed a quick two-day winter road trip Barcelona-Montserrat-Tarragona-Barcelona. Montserrat is a dramatic rocky mount in the middle of the Parc Natural de la Muntanya de Montserrat. Tarragona, now a lively seaside town, was once called Tarraco, a major Roman settlement on the Iberian Peninsula. Catalonia's winters are perfectly suited for road trips. The region has more than 300 days of sunshine per year, but the few days of mixed weather tend to occur in winter. Bright and changeable, Catalonia's winter weather makes for a wonderful backdrop to journeys through the region's stunning landscapes and the remnants of its 2000 year old Roman history. Here follows a few impressions:
